(Vienna and Melk) July 7th - 16th, 2010
Day 1
Our journey starts with flight to
Prague, Czech Republic, meals are served on board of the plane
Day 2
Upon arrival we go for city
sightseeing tour of Prague where we meet city and its most important landmarks
such as Charles Bridge, old town of Prague with gothic church of Our Lady of
Tyn and Astronomical Clock. Dinner is in one of local restaurants, overnight in
hotel.
Day 3
Today our pilgrimage will start with
visit to Royal Castle and St. Vitus`s Cathedral morning Holy Mass is in the
church of Our Lady Victorious and visit to The Prague Infant Jesus. After full
day tour we are back on the way towards the capital of region Moravia, Brno.
Here we dinner and overnight.
Day 4
Our tour continues with sightseeing
of Brno, among other sites the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul, interesting
is visit to the church crypt from the 12th century. Since 1777 the Cathedral
has been the Seat of the Brno bishopric. The drive continues to Poland and on
the way to Krakow we stop in the Wadowice birthplace of Pope John Paul II.
Arrival in Krakow is in the late afternoon. Our sightseeing of the downtown of
Krakow will include (time permitting) the Market Square, the church of the
Assumption of Virgin Mary, the Royal Castle on Wawel, The Cathedral of Wawel
and The Crypt of St. Leonard where our Pope John Paul II celebrated his first
Holy Mass.
End of our long day will be with dinner in our hotel in Krakow.
Day 5
Our pilgrimage to Poland will have
beautiful start in the Sanctuary of the Divine Mercy just few miles outside the
Krakow where Sr. Faustina experienced extraordinary encounters with Jesus.
After holy mass here we will continue to the magnificent salt mine Wieliczka,
breathtaking halls under the ground dig in salt. Overnight in Krakow
Day 6
Early morning we leave Krakow and
drive on the north to Czestochowa, Jasna Gora the most popular Polish sanctuary
for over 600 years. Prayer before the Miraculous painting, Holy Mass and the
story of Poland which can not be told without a Black Madonna. On the way we
stop at the Auswitz place of the biggest tragedy in the recent human history
and hear of life of St. Maksymilian Kolbe, hope and the love for our God should
never die. At the end of the day we are back in Krakow
Day 7
After breakfast we leave Krakow and
Poland and our goal is Vienna in Austria late afternoon arrival in Vienna.
After checking in the hotel and in
the evening we will see the inheritance of Habsburg Monarchy in its best.
Day 8
Today we continue with the
sightseeing of Vienna. City of Strauss and Mozart, city of the most beautiful
architecture as a testimony of once biggest Empire in Europe. We visit
Karlskirche one of the finest churches of the high baroque period, the Hofburg,
after a coffee break and famous Vienna Sacher cake in coffee shop, we are on to
the Schonbrunn Royal palace, Belvedere palace and its beautiful garden. Return
to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 9 Full
day excursion along the Danube Valley including visit to Abbey of Melk,
Benedictine Monastery and after Holy Mass we take a cruise boat for about hour
and a half until Durnstein and by bus return to Vienna, dinner and overnight.
Day 10
Transfer to Vienna international
airport for our flight back home to US.
